The ecology club of your institution recently screened a documentary film. Your teacher has asked you to write a review of it for the school magazine.
Here are two comments from other students who also have watched it.
- It gave some unusual new things about animals. Really an eye-opener!
- It should have been more showing than telling. A lot of discussions!
Write a review of the movie of 150-200 words length for your school magazine.
The comments above may give you some ideas, and you can also use some ideas of your own.
Task-1: Write the first body paragraph developing the controlling idea in the review statement.
(In the given example: novel and thought-inspiring as it presents a rather unknown aspect of animal life- their emotional lives.)
Helpful plan
•Start with a topic sentence
Eg: The visual strategy adopted by the movie is that almost all frames focus exclusively on the ‘cultural’ living of animals and thus make a unity of impression.
•Write two or three sentences giving facts from the film to support the idea in the topic sentence.
•Restate the basic idea of the first sentence as the conclusion of the paragraph.
