Even though many people are convinced of infinite worth of social networking, to me, it is just a room for shallow chit chat. There are people who see these new ways of light communities as disruptive of genuine sociality. If this is true - I’m afraid it is- our time is one without stuff. I had been a hard core fan of social media until last year when one of my friends was broken by a collective attack of cyber bullies. To our shock, we found that cyberspace is a lawless land of unruly groupings. People simply enjoy crude collective power over weaker people. So, I’ve deactivated all my social networking accounts. Many friends feared I would become isolated without them. But, even to my surprise, I started to get real time friends off the ‘cyberdom’. Now, I have a community of friends who really know me, care for me and pay attention to me. We have frequent get-together and conduct programmes in which we all are interested. I feel this is where I really belong
